I really love playing guitar in blues style music, but for a career?
What should I do for a career, I am a Junior in HS and have to think what I will pursue in my life, I really love music and guitar, but I know that not many positions are open to that sort of thing. I am also in technology and software tech. What should I do with college and higher education, I really feel that I should follow my dreams to music, but hearing about how so many musicians get wrapped into the debt because not the "big" to do, I do not know if that will be the best route for me. So many musicians also get packed into drugs and stuff that I've vowed to myself that I never will do;) so what should I do?
Continuation an IT degree while playing guitar on the side seems most sensible to me, if you enlarge it in the music industry, a degree is not going to hurt, and I maybe wrong, but as a guitarist does not require that you have a degree in music if you have talent.
