Should I take electric guitar or bass?
Bass players seem more rare, it seems like it would be easier to find a place in one band after playing a few years. Bass does not seem too difficult to learn. Guitar players are everywhere, so I think I have a hard time ever a band with it, even after years of practice, because I cannot sing. While the guitar seems a great tool for solo use, which is what I would do for the next few years. I also have access to many guitar instruction / lessons, but no for the bass. I have about $ 200 to spend on a guitar or bass starter kit (with amp, case, cable, strap, tuner, and all). any suggestions on what to get, or where to buy? Bass is easier than guitar, but me, because the strings are very thick for my small fingers. Knowing the guitar helps a lot with the bass, almost to the point that if you can play the guitar, a bass you can. The strings are the same tuning. Of course, if you want to play slap bass or something, that is something else. Ultimately it is quite useful to know how to play guitar in music since you are such a widely used instrument.
