Learning to read music is not for everyone. But it is not a mystery either - if you have a few things happen.
Music is a language, like English is a language. But is actually easier to understand. Music is a logical, consistent, perfect mathematical language that is played or sung emotionally. When I say "mathematically perfect", I mean not rocket science - just simple arithmetic. If you can count on 3 or 4, and aware that 1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 2 = 4, and 1 / 2 + 1 / 2 = 1, you're half way there.
Music is actually the alphabet from A - G repeated over and again. There is no "H" or "Q" note - but if you play a wrong note, it can, sa "Q" Note.
Musical notes on a contraption called staff. A staff has 5 lines and 4 are spaces.There also notes that games can be above or below the staff. This staff is divided into (usually) equal "mats" parts called measures.Sometimes they're called bars. All notes in these measures, or bars, have count values. A note to a count value of 4, 2, 1, 1 / 2, and other count values. These count values within each measure will always be the same number - unless you otherwise are told - and you will not see that kind of thing for a while in the reading of your career.
The note names on, under or above the staff are easy to learn. The lines on the staff, from bottom to top, EGBD F. The spaces are FACE (face). Now ... Forget what I said about music is the alphabet of AG repeated over and over again? The first line of the staff is E. The first area is F, the second line G, while the second space A. You see here the alphabet? From the first line on the staff, and go line, space, line, space all the way up, you EFGABCDEF - the alphabet.
Any note above or below the staff has no problem either.The space below staff? As note in the musical alphabet (AG) is slightly less than E? The answer is D. If I be persuaded by a small staff, and put a note on that would be C (the note just below D). Above the staff? Same. The area right above the staff is a G - a note higher than the F. When I went to a little above the line drawing and a note on that would be an A-note - the following musical note after G (note there is no H).
No matter how many lines I draw above or below the staff, you can identify the letter name of this bill by simply starting the first line and staff - the E-note. Then just go up or down the musical alphabet until you note the location where it is.
Of course, you still have to learn the note locations your guitar, but if you learn that you'll see a logic to the also.
So, it's all about the alphabet and simple arithmetic. It really is as simple as that. Yes, You need to practice, but that's good. You make music.
