Not guitars that use a combination of mahogany and maple wood rack when hung on wall over time?

If you go to the guitar hanging as shown many years, I sure would not be the best way to keep the screen in prime condition. A guitar holder supported on the bottom of the instrument would be better. But the use of a hanger as you intended, I do not think you should worry about the wooden shelves. I had more to worry about the joints to separate continuous weight of the guitar ........... but that's quite some time before it would happen. If the guitar is often convenient to keep playing, I would not worry about it. If a high value tool that you want to view, then I would a more secure, robust form of displaying it. Even if your monitor or save a stringed instrument for a period of time you loose the strings so there is no tension. Spanning over long periods of time warps throws the neck, next to the field.
